Hosted by Maryam El Gardoum & Wafa Heboul Pioneer in the surf and skate in Morocco
We’re excited to share our home turf with you, both in and out of the water. Whether you’re a total beginner, or fast progressing improver, you’ll love the variety of waves and panoramic skatepark right on our doorstep. Tamraght has been modernised in recent years, now home to pop-up boutiques, barista cafes, spas and trendy restaurants. And yet, hidden away, it’s still possible to find the original Amazigh fishing village charm, and it’s our pleasure to share this with you too.
Maryam El Gardoum
Maryam El Gardoum is a five-time Moroccan surf champion and one of the first Amazigh women to rise to national prominence in Morocco’s surf scene. Hailing from the coastal village of Tamraght, she began surfing at age 11 and quickly made waves, not just in competition, but in breaking gender norms in the lineup. With unshakable determination and grace, Maryam earned her place in a traditionally male-dominated community, not just as a competitor, but as a respected voice in the Moroccan surf world.
Maryam turned her focus to mentorship and empowerment, launching Dihya Surf School, the first women-led surf school in Morocco. Her work has been featured in Condé Nast Traveller, Huck Magazine, and international film festivals and interviews, as she continues to carve out space for the next generation.

What to expect?
This retreat is for every woman who feels the call to break free ! from fear, from judgment, from the stories that say “you can’t.” Whether you're a complete beginner who's always dreamt of standing on a board, or an experienced rider craving a supportive space to grow, The Let Go Retreat is your invitation to step into your power.
We believe that surfing and skateboarding are more than sports! they are portals. They teach us how to fall, get up, and try again. They ask us to trust our bodies, sharpen our focus, and move through fear with curiosity and courage. Every wave caught, every trick landed (or failed) becomes a metaphor for life: you are capable of more than you think.
By pushing physical limits, we open emotional doors. Through movement, we reconnect with the joy of being in our bodies. In community, we rewrite our stories. This is not about performance ! it's about presence, expression, and taking ownership of your narrative.
Who's it for?
Expect golden hour surfs, barefoot morning stretches, skate sessions with local kids, tagine-fueled nights under the stars, and conversations that crack you open.
This retreat is a celebration of courage and softness ! where you'll be supported whether you're riding your first wave or landing your first ollie. No pressure, just presence. It's not about being the best, it's about showing up fully, falling, laughing, growing, and rising again, together.
Beyond the boards, expect the raw beauty of Morocco to hold you . From the dusty pink sunsets over the Atlantic to the rhythms of everyday life in our surf village. You’ll feel the warmth of the people, the richness of tradition, and the way time slows down when you're truly present.
We’ll share delicious, homemade Moroccan food prepared with love, sleep in comfy and beautiful accommodation, and gather daily in a supportive environment that celebrates you, cheers for your wins, and holds space when you need to pause.
This is more than a retreat. It’s a reset. A return to your body, your courage, and your joy.
